Pronunciation Tip

The German R

Unit 1 — Pronunciation

The German R is usually guttural (made in the throat) at the start of a syllable, like a soft gargle. At the end of a syllable it softens to an 'uh' sound — 'Vater' sounds like 'FAH-tuh'.

Grammar Note

Der, Die, Das

Grammar — Gender

Every German noun has a gender: der (masculine), die (feminine), das (neuter). Always learn the article WITH the noun — 'der Tisch', never just 'Tisch'.

Word Order

The Verb Comes Second

Unit 1 — Word Order

In German main clauses, the conjugated verb is always the SECOND element. 'Heute gehe ich' (Today go I) — the verb 'gehe' stays in position two no matter what starts the sentence.

This is just a small taste. More units, more audio, and hundreds of native expressions are on the way.

The Science Behind It

Why This Actually Works

Built on proven cognitive science — not gamification gimmicks

Spaced Repetition

Review words at scientifically optimal intervals. Our Anki decks are pre-built so your brain retains vocabulary long-term, not just for a test.

Active Recall

Every unit ends with exercises and quizzes that force your brain to retrieve information — the single most effective way to build lasting memory.

Comprehensible Input

Learn through real dialogues and scenarios you'll actually encounter in Germany. Context-rich learning beats memorizing word lists.

Progressive Building

Units that build on each other: sounds → words → grammar → conversations → fluency. Every new lesson reinforces what you already know.

Interleaving

We mix vocabulary, grammar, and culture in each unit rather than isolating them. Your brain forms stronger connections this way.

Native Immersion

Learn how Germans actually speak — slang, contractions, everyday phrasing. Sound natural from day one, not like a textbook robot.
